Toyota Bringing Prius To Super Bowl
While most people think of American football as something that only citizens of the United States enjoy, last year's record-shattering number of viewers in Canada proved that the NFL truly appeals to fans of the sport living in all parts of the world. More specifically, 55% of all Canadians (19.3 million out of 35.1 million current residents) watched The Big Game last year, both on English and French-speaking television stations.
Knowing this, it shouldn't be too big a surprise why ad time during the Super Bowl comes at such a premium. Any time you can reach over half of a country's massive population with a single television ad, there's no question that it's worth the financial gamble, all of which helps explain why Toyota has participated in the hubbub for five consecutive years.
They're about to make it six, and this time it already has been announced that the completely-redesigned 2016 Toyota Prius will be at the heart of the new 60-second spot. At this point nobody has any clue as to what the commercial actually will be about, but Toyota did let it slip that they're planning on presenting something humorous, which always is a hit for people watching the #1 television entertainment event of the year.
The last time the Prius was featured in a Super Bowl spot was over ten years ago, so the best-selling hybrid vehicle of all time is long overdue for a little more love, particularly in a world that sees gas prices dropping and thinks that hybrids aren't essential anymore.
Here at Charlesglen Toyota, however, we think we've proven time and again that our stock of new and used Toyota Prius models are great cars regardless of drivetrain, and we look forward to this new commercial conveying that very message to well over half of this country in just a few weeks.
