Electric Powertrain System
The 2023 bZ4X is the first Toyota to use the industry’s latest e-TNGA platform that positions the battery low in the chassis to offer a lower centre of gravity for enhanced driving dynamics and optimized handling. The front-wheel models feature a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric motor to deliver up to 406 kilometres of driving range. By contrast, the AWD models boast two motors — one at the front and the other in the rear — to promise up to 367 kilometres of driving range. An X-Mode and Grip Control features are added to the all-wheel drive system to ensure great handling and traction in low-grip road situations.
