Toyota Introduces Updated 2016 Prius
For a decade-and-a-half, there hasn't been a vehicle in the industry quite like the Toyota Prius, which probably is why every Toyota dealer in the country has sold so many of them. Still, despite its massive success as the paragon of efficiency and quality in the hybrid world, Toyota felt it was time to develop and produce a new and improved version of the Toyota Prius, and it's from those machinations that we find ourselves presented with the completely reimagined 2016 Toyota Prius.
While the vehicle still does look distinctively Prius-like, it was given a facelift that absolutely is more modern than the iteration of Prius that it replaces. The lines are sleeker and the car itself is a little bit longer, giving the hybrid a much sportier and more athletic aesthetic than it's had in the past. Knowing the misconceptions about hybrids and performance, we think a slick new look will go a long way toward ushering in a new era for vehicles like this one.
Of course another part of the vehicle's update was making it more fun to drive. It's longer, wide and lower, and it also features a more responsive suspension, giving the car a lower center of gravity and easier handling.
Even better news is that even with these changes the new Prius will improve on its current fuel efficiency by 10 percent, making it the most efficient non-plug-in automobile currently on the road.
We love the changes in store for the new Prius and we can't wait for it to eventually arrive at our facility sometime in the near future. This is the iconic hybrid automobile, and Toyota just did a whole lot to make it even better.
