How Toyota’s Hybrid System Works?
1. Starting Up: In most driving and road conditions, only the electric motor is engaged to save fuel and deliver instant torque with limited emissions.
2. Accelerating and Cruising: Both the gas engine and electric motor work in sync to provide extra power for smooth acceleration. The excess energy is used to recharge the battery.
3. Decelerating and Braking: The built-in regenerative braking system converts braking energy into electric energy to recharge the battery on the go.
4. Resting and Reversing: In the resting mode, the gas engine stops working to conserve fuel, which depends on the battery charge level. Even when you reverse at low speed, only the electric motor operates.
