Winter Wiper Blades

Just like winter tires are absolutely essential during our long Alberta winters, having the right wiper blades for the season can make a world of difference in your driving experience. With an onslaught of snow, slush, gravel and more hazards hitting your windshield, trying to see through streaks or ice buildup can be a challenge – if not impossible – and with slippery conditions on the roads, a split second can make a world of difference in avoiding an accident. First, you should check your regular wiper blades for skipping, streaking, splitting or squeaking when in use. This means that your wiper blades need to be replaced – and if you are close to or in the months of October through April, winter wiper blades should be your first choice.

Winter wiper blades are designed differently than regular wiper blades, increasing performance and safety when you are driving. Winter wipers have a curved blade and are made of a heavier rubber to push away snow and cut through ice. They are also a frameless, flex beam style with fewer moving parts to prevent freezing and ice building up, which can cause regular wiper blades to break.

Wiper blades are a simple and inexpensive part of your vehicle that should be replaced every six months to ensure optimal performance and safety. Contact our Parts Department to get your Toyota winter wiper blades, as well as regular wiper blades today.
